The Department of Dentistry Government Medical college and hospital sec 32 Chandigarh in collaboration with ICD,IDA chd state branch and Department of obstetrics and Gynaecology GMCH 32 organized a preventive oral health programme on 12th March to celebrate the international women’s day. It was an interactive programme which started with the asking the questions to the audience. Than they were educated on oral health preventive measures by power point presentation with lectures .All aspects such as oral lesions during pregnancy, nutritional intake, myths regarding oral hygiene during pregnancy, anticipatory guidance, role of fluorides and type of toothbrush to be used were discussed. Also emphasis was laid on oral health care of infants as cleaning of gum pads, early childhood caries, storage of avulsed tooth and restriction of sweet intake .overall it was a very interactive session and benefitted the audience who had come to the Gynaecology OPD. Brushing demonstration was also given and free toothpastes were distributed by IDA chd state branch.
